Vision and Mission
Since the inception of decentralized planning, we have been able to accelerate the development activities of Thidanad Grama Panchayat. With a focus on basic infrastructure development, we have created new milestones in various sectors. As we enter the process of formulating the Annual Plan for 2026–27, the fifth year of the Fourteenth Five-Year Plan, we have, through our activities during the past four years, made significant progress towards achieving self-sufficiency in the agriculture and animal husbandry sectors. In the agricultural sector, we have implemented projects for the cultivation and distribution of vegetables, ginger, fruit tree saplings, organic manure and bio-fertilizers. In the animal husbandry sector, projects such as calf care, cattle feed distribution to dairy farmers, and distribution of poultry have contributed to ensuring the availability of milk, eggs and meat.
In the housing sector, we have been able to ensure social security by allocating 20% of the Annual Plan outlay every year. Under the Malinya Muktha Nava Kerala (Waste-Free New Kerala) initiative, we have established MCFs, Mini-MCFs, public bins in public places, bottle booths, IEC boards and Take-a-Break facilities. With the dedicated efforts of the Haritha Karma Sena members, these initiatives have contributed significantly towards making the Grama Panchayat almost free from waste.
In the productive sector, priority has been given to comprehensive agricultural development projects in order to strengthen and sustain the agricultural sector. Special emphasis has been placed on the welfare and self-reliance of women and on the upliftment of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities. Due attention has also been given to soil and water conservation activities to maintain the ecological balance. Efforts have been made to improve the standards of the health and education sectors, create employment opportunities, and address the increasing shortage of drinking water by preparing projects such as well-recharging initiatives.
In alignment with the Government of Kerala's programmes such as Haritha Keralam, LIFE, Ardram, Public Education Rejuvenation Mission, Subhiksha Kerala, and Malinya Muktham Nava Keralam, priority is being given to environmentally friendly and comprehensive development activities in the agricultural, health and housing sectors of the Panchayat. Projects have been prepared focusing on the welfare of farmers and the development and well-being of the weaker sections of society.
